Our Australian-made credentials are one of our biggest selling points! Our purpose-built factory is located in Sydney and is where we manufacture 46 different styles of Mongrel Boots.
Mongrel Boots can be found in a wide array of stores across the UK, including leading quality footwear retailers, disposal outlets and specialist workwear retailers. Search for you nearest Mongrel retailer here.
The AUS/UK sizing system is used for Mongrel Boots.
Mongrel Boots was established in 1930 and is still 100% Australian owned and operated by the same family, with all manufacturing done in Australia.
Mongrel Boots come with a 6-month manufacturer’s warranty in addition to other consumer rights you are entitled to under law. The warranty begins from the purchase date and covers against material and manufacturing faults. Misuse and excessive wear and tear as deemed by Mongrel Boots are not covered under the warranty.
You will need to take your boots back to where you purchased them and provide proof of purchase. If found to be faulty, Mongrel Boots will repair or replace them. If you can’t find your proof of purchase or are unable to return them to the store where you bought them, contact us at info@mongrelboots.com.au.
When you’re not wearing them, always store your Mongrel Boots in a dry, well-ventilated place out of direct sunlight. A humid environment is detrimental to the condition of your boots whereas an air-conditioned environment is ideal.
There are not specific ladies’ versions of Mongrel Boots but sizes 3 to 6 are graded to suit women’s feet. Generally speaking, it’s best to choose two sizes down. For example, a men’s size 4 would be a ladies’ size 6.
EEE width is the standard fit for all Mongrel Boots. If you require a wider fitting, you might like to try a half-size, available from sizes 6.5 to 10.5. While they are the same length as our full sizes, they are wider in fit.
Humidity and damp are the enemy of footwear. Dry your Mongrel Boots as soon as possible at a standard room temperature. Keep them away from sunlight and do not apply direct heat such as with a hairdryer, fireplace or electric heater. Once dry, visit our Boot Care page for information on reconditioning the leather uppers.
Check the label inside your Mongrel Boots to discover which standards apply to your style. Numerous standards apply to our manufacturing, including AS 2210.3:2019, ISO 20345:2011, MOD and ASTM F2413.
No Mongrel Boots feature a waterproof membrane so they are not waterproof, but you can enhance their water resistance by applying Mongrel Suede & Nubuck Protector.
Mongrel Boots that carry the yellow Vibram octagon logo on the outsole are manufactured with premium quality nitrile rubber. Vibram is the global leaders in high-performance rubber shoe soles, offering outstanding heat, acid, oil and slip resistance.
TPU stands for thermoplastic polyurethane. This material is used for the outsoles on most Mongrel Boots products. TPU helps improve elasticity and oil, grease and abrasion resistance.
While TPU is heat resistant to 130C, nitrile rubber is heat resistant up to 300C, which means it is a superior material for those who work on hot surfaces. Nitrile rubber soles are oil and acid resistant. TPU is preferable for its slip-resistance and tear strength, making it an excellent all-rounder.
Both our nitrile rubber and TPU outsoles are appropriate for acid and oil resistance.
High-quality polyurethane is used for the midsoles of all Mongrel Boots. Being soft and springy, polyurethane is ideal for absorbing impact and for providing comfort.
We use the latest, most technically advanced manufacturing method to attach soles to the uppers. Our dual-density soles are directly injected onto uppers via Desma injection moulding machinery.
Yes, high-quality steel caps are featured in all our safety boots.
